Nominations are out for the Gayming Awards 2025, with Dragon Age: The Veilguard leading the way with three nominations across the 12 categories.

The Gayming Awards, the world’s only LGBTQ+ video game award show, broadcasts exclusively worldwide on World of Wonder’s WOW Presents Plus on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure, Dragon’s Dogma 2, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Fear the Spotlight and Caravan SandWitch also have two nominations each across the categories. The organizer of the awards, Gayming Magazine, reaches more than three million people a month.

Six games have been nominated for the prestigious Game of the Year including Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Fear The Spotlight, Life is Strange: Double Exposure, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, and The Last of Us Part II Remastered.

And Caravan SandWitch, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Life is Strange: Double Exposure, and The Last of Us Part II Remastered have been nominated by the public for the Gayming Magazine Readers’ Award, where the public can vote for their favorite.

Other categories include Best LGBTQ+ Indie Game – celebrating passionate work in the indie space – with nominees including Beloved Rapture, Kitsune Tails and Sorry We’re Closed; and Best LGBTQ+ Character with nominees including Venture from Overwatch 2, Rook from Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Vivian from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.

The Gayming Awards 2025 are sponsored by W Hollywood, Fireshine Games, MyNerdLife and Gay Water. Supporters include The Abbey and Voda: The LGBT+ Mental Health App. More sponsors and supporters will be revealed closer to the broadcast in July.

Alongside games, the Industry Diversity Award acknowledges positive contributions to increasing diversity in the global games industry with Blizzard Entertainment, Code Coven, Limit Break and Rare receiving nominations.

Nominees for the new Community Impact Award, sponsored by Fireshine Games, which celebrates individuals or community groups who have made a significant impact in supporting and uplifting LGBTQ+ gamers include Boston Gaymers, Charlotte Gaymers Network, NYC Gaymers, QueerVox, Stream for a Cause and the*gamehers.

In the world of queer gaming content creation, eight LGBTQ+ content creators have been nominated with the public and judges voting to choose their favorite, the nominees include ChiChi, Ctrlaltquin, DataDave, GaymerONE1, halfmoonjoe, Juice Boxx, Negaoryx and PearlTeese.

Finally, in the world of geek entertainment, six TV shows have been nominated for LGBTQ+ Geek Entertainment of the Year, sponsored by MyNerdLife, with the public voting for their favorite: Agatha All Along, Arcane: Season 2, Hazbin Hotel, Heartstopper, Interview with the Vampire: Season 2 and The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Dead by Daylight. Plus, in a new category celebrating LGBTQ+ voice actors, Erika Ishii, JP Karliak, Katie Cofield, Mila Jam, Kieran Regan and Ciarán Strange all received nominations.

A full list of categories and nominees can be found below. The winners of two categories, Gayming Icon and the LGBTQ+ Streamer Rising Star Class of 2025, sponsored by Logitech G, will be revealed in June ahead of the Awards.

Public voting is now open in four of these 12 categories – to have your say, head to gaymingawards.com.

The Gayming Awards will premiere Tuesday, July 8, 2025 exclusively on WOW Presents Plus, joining the platform’s extensive catalog of award-winning original programming, including the entire international Drag Race franchise, World of Wonder-produced documentary films, such as The Eyes of Tammy Faye and Party Monster, as well as licensed content including the recently premiered scripted comedy I Hate People, People Hate Me.

Highlights from the Awards will be shared across Gayming’s social media accounts where fans can see the key moments unfold and successes celebrated.

Robin Gray, Gayming Magazine & Gayming Awards founder, said in a statement, “We have an amazingly diverse roster of nominees for this year’s Gayming Awards. From AAA games to impactful LGBTQ+ indie games, there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy.”

Gray added, “Outside of the games themselves, we have an amazing line up of companies, people and community orgs who have all done amazing work over the past year to support, uplift and champion LGBTQ+ gamers, esports players and games industry workers. I’m also thrilled with the nominees we have in our content creator and voice acting categories, these are truly iconic people who add so much to the wonderful world of queer gaming.
