    Geekom A8 with Ryzen 7 8745HS: Is the mini-PC worth it? – NotebookCheck.net News

The Geekom A8 houses an AMD Ryzen 7 8745HS processor and combines it with a sleek, compact case and a versatile range of ports. We analyze how well this mini-PC performs in everyday use and compare to other mini PCs with the same powerful CPU.

The Geekom A8 is a compact and yet powerful mini PC that combines proven AMD technology with a high-quality aluminum casing. In our tests, the new model from Geekom impresses with strong performance and a well-thought-out design. Powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 8745HS, an efficient eight-core processor based on the Zen 4 architecture with 16 threads, it delivers high computing power with moderate energy consumption. This is supported by 32 GB of fast DDR5 RAM and a 1 TB PCIe SSD. The integrated AMD Radeon 780M ensures smooth playback of multimedia content, superior office performance and easy gaming. However, the Geekom A8 does not feature a dedicated NPU, as used in the new Ryzen AI processors, which means that AI tasks still have to be performed via the CPU or GPU.

Geekom remains true to its design philosophy: the aluminum housing has been in use for some time now and once again impresses with its elegant appearance and solid workmanship in the A8 (2025). The advantages and disadvantages remain unchanged. Despite its powerful hardware, the mini PC remains compact and elegant, making it ideal for the office or home office desk. The connectivity options also impressive: in addition to several USB ports and modern USB4 ports, HDMI outputs and a card reader are available for maximum flexibility in everyday use.

The Geekom A8 runs mostly quietly, although the fans rev up quickly under load. In benchmarks, the mini PC proves to be a well-rounded all-rounder with high efficiency, stable performance and sophisticated cooling.

If you’re looking for a compact, quiet, yet powerful mini PC, the Geekom A8 is an exciting alternative. Even without an NPU, it delivers a strong overall package at a fair price and so remains one of the most interesting options in the mini PC segment in 2025. The Geekom A8 is available both via Amazon and directly from the manufacturer. Interested buyers are recommended to take a look at our detailed review for further information.

Growing up in regional Australia, I first became acquainted with computers in my early teens after a broken leg from a football (soccer) match temporarily condemned me to a predominately indoor lifestyle. I am particularly fascinated by how computer technology has fundamentally and dramatically reshaped human culture, and how it continues to do so.
