We recently reported on the Hisense U8 Mini-LED TV receiving a significant discount on Amazon, making the TV an excellent value due to its superb brightness and excellent color performance. However, we also noted that the Hisense U8 has limited viewing angles. This could be a deal-breaker for people who want a TV with a stable picture even when viewed from the sides. Enter the LG C5 OLED TV.
The LG C5 OLED TV, although not as bright as the Hisense U8, has almost everything you could want from a TV, including wide viewing angles. LG C5 OLED TV earned an 8.6 rating from Rtings
The LG C5 is a superb mid-range OLED TV that nails almost all aspects. As such, it earned a “Mixed Usage” rating of 8.6 from Rtings. The TV scored particularly high in “Home Theatre” and “Gaming” categories due to its rich colors, excellent HDR performance, 144 Hz refresh rate, low input lag, and a short response time. The TV also supports VRR.
That said, the LG C5 OLED TV is not perfect, as there are some minor inconveniences. The biggest and most noticeable drawback is that the LG C5 can’t perfectly handle direct light sources. This can be a major issue for folks who have a lot of light sources in their living room. The TV also exhibits response time stutter due to its short pixel response time.
However, the qualities of the LG C5 OLED far outweigh the cons. At the current discounted prices, the LG C5 is a pretty solid value.
