[REVIEW] HP ZBook Fury 16 G9 – How can anyone top this?
    Source: Laptop Media
The ZBook Fury G9 is a device that you can always trust to perform well and get the job done, regardless of what you need. It keeps up with modern trends, while still offering some tried and true features. On the other hand, some performance is lost, due to HP’s conservative power management, however, we believe that can be adjusted with a software update. If HP does that, the ZBook will be unstoppable in its class, if it isn’t already.

HP ZBook Fury 16 G9 review

Well, there is one feature that we left out for the end of the review. This notebook’s graphics card is upgradeable. This means you can change it yourself down the line, should you need a more powerful GPU. Keep in mind, that it would cost you a fortune, but at least HP has a specific guide on how to upgrade the card. The one thing we still can’t figure out is why HP doesn’t provide you with a higher TGP graphics card. The cooling solution and the super thick fans can definitely handle more. Not in the last place, keep in mind that the vapor chamber is only available for configurations, including the RTX A3000 or a more powerful graphics card.

89.5% HP ZBook Fury G1i 18 workstation review: Great with some flaws | Notebookcheck
The latest 18-inch ZBook Fury can be configured with some of the fastest processors from Intel and Nvidia and yet it still loses out to the Dell Pro Max 18 Plus in most benchmarks. Is something causing the HP workstation to underperform?

HP: Founded in 1939, the US company is a major server and printer manufacturer and one of the leading IT companies in the world. Until 2015, the company was called Hewlett-Packard Company. After a split, the computer division was renamed HP Inc.

In 2023, HP had an approximate market share of 22% of global PC sales, making it number 2 after Lenovo.

With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.

NVIDIA RTX A2000 Laptop GPU: Mid-range professional laptop graphics card based on the Ampere GA107 chip with 2,560 CUDA cores. Similar to the consumer GeForce GTX 3050 Ti with certified drivers. Available in different performance variants ranging from 35 – 95 W TGP (max. power consumption).

These graphics cards are able to play the latest and most demanding games in high resolutions and full detail settings with enabled Anti-Aliasing.

NVIDIA RTX PRO 5000 Blackwell Generation Laptop: High-end GPU that belongs to Nvidia’s professional series. It’s based on the Blackwell architecture and features 10,496 CUDA processing cores as well as 24 GB of GDDR7 ECC memory.

» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.

    Intel Alder Lake-S:

i7-12800HX: Alder Lake based mobile CPU with 8 performance cores and 8 efficient cores. The performance cores offer hyper threading, leading to 24 threads that can be processed. The CPU clocks from 1.5 to 4.8 GHz. The CPU does not support vPro and ECC memory but can be overclocked.

    Intel Arrow Lake:

Ultra 9 285HX: Mobile high-end CPU for gaming notebooks based on the Arrow Lake architecture. Offers 24 cores consisting of 8 fast performance cores with up to 5.5 GHz and 16 smaller efficiency cores with up to 4.6 GHz clock speed. 16.00:

This range for display formats was and is a rarity. It is larger than the general standard of 15 inches, but not yet in the range of large workstations. One usually has higher screen resolutions available, but portability suffers from that.

» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

    2.39 kg:

    3.43 kg:

A laptop with this weight is comparatively heavy and less designed for mobility than for use at the desk. Therefore, the devices tend to shine less with battery life than with a large screen and higher performance.

89.5%: There are not very many models that are rated better. Most of the assessments are in percentage ranges below that. The tested product is not considered perfect, but the sources give a clear purchase recommendation.
