Injustice’s Superman and Green Lantern voice actors reveal Injustice 3 is in development – NotebookCheck.net News
Injustice 3 might be coming to physical and digital storefronts sooner than expected, as per recent revelations by voice actors who have worked on the title in the past.
DC fans are in for a treat as reports suggest that the next installment in NetherRealm Studios’ Injustice series is in active development. Recent fan encounters with voice actors Phil LaMarr and George Newbern have essentially confirmed the cat is out of the bag.
LaMarr voiced DC’s Green Lantern in various animated movies and the Injustice games, while Newbern is known for his roles as Superman in the Justice League animated series and the Injustice franchise. Both voice actors, on separate occasions, have indicated that Injustice 3 is in development.
At FanExpo in Toronto on August 23, 2025, X user Brendan Borrow shared a photo with Newbern, detailing their conversation. He stated, “Yesterday, I met my favourite voice actor for Superman. I was telling him he’s definitive as the voice for me, and how much I loved the game MultiVersus. In response to my MultiVersus comment, he told me he’s currently working on Injustice 3!”
Similarly, X user DannySoul0 mentioned his direct encounter with LaMarr on August 29, 2025, to get his copy of Injustice 2 signed. According to the post, LaMarr stated, “You know they’re making another one, they’re doing Injustice 3.”
LaMarr shared this teaser after a brief chat with the X user, recounting his experience with the late Kevin Conroy, who had voiced Batman in multiple animated projects, including Injustice 2. It’s speculated that Batman will be voiced by voice actor Hamish Linklater, who is known for the recent Amazon Prime series, Batman: Caped Crusader.
These claims should be taken with some slight skepticism since, unlike previous leaks involving Assassin’s Creed Black Flag’s voice actors, they lack video evidence. However, these statements do align with NetherRealms’ alternating development cycles for video games.
The studio has alternated between Mortal Kombat 9 in 2011 to Injustice Gods Among Us in 2013. Later, the studio went from Mortal Kombat X in 2015 to Injustice 2 in 2017.
Mortal Kombat 11 was released in 2019, followed by Mortal Kombat 1 in 2023. Currently, NetherRealm has confirmed that no major content updates will be made to Mortal Kombat 1, which suggests that the studio is shifting its focus to developing Injustice 3.
Another sweet teaser we received was from DC Studios head James Gunn, who mentioned that he’s excited about “one thing in particular” for DC Games by NetherRealm Studios, and stated that the project is still in “early stages.”
