Leaked Lenovo Legion Go 2 images reveal more details about display, controllers, and accessories – NotebookCheck.net News
Several official images of the Lenovo Legion Go 2 have surfaced in a new leak. The images confirm already known details about the handheld but also reveal new ones.
After an initial reveal at CES 2025 January, Lenovo is expected to launch the Legion Go 2 at IFA 2025. The handheld gaming PC will arrive as the successor to the Legion Go (read our review) released in November 2023. Popular leaker, Evan Blass, already revealed some details of the Legion Go 2 ahead of its IFA debut. Now, he has provided several more images of the device that contain more details.
According to one of the images, the Legion Go 2’s 8.8-inch display will have a 16:10 aspect ratio with a 1200p resolution and a 97% DCI-P3 color gamut. The OLED screen, which also has 10-point touch support and 500 nits of brightness, meets VESA’s DisplayHDR True Black 1000 standard and has a 144Hz variable refresh rate.
As previously revealed back in January, the Legion Go 2 will have a 74Wh battery that is now split into two cells according to a hands-on video that surfaced in July. It will come with a 65W AC adapter, but like the Legion Go, it should be able to draw higher power when connected to a higher wattage charger like the Anker 140W 4-port wall charger (curr. available on Amazon for $79.99).
While the Legion Go 2 largely retains the design of the original with its detachable controllers, there are many changes that differentiate them. For example, Lenovo has changed the position of the MicroSD card slot and audio jack, moving them from the top on the Legion Go to the bottom on the second generation.
In addition, the Truestrike Controllers have been redesigned to be more comfortable, and thankfully, they are confirmed to be backward compatible with the first generation Legion Go. However, a new feature spotted in one of the images shared by Evan Blass is what seems to be a USB-C port. If that is indeed the case, owners will be able to charge the controllers without re-attaching them to the Legion Go 2.
The Legion Go 2 will feature Lenovo’s Legion Coldfront cooling technology and will have a bigger fan for increased airflow. The images also show the device has larger vents for inflow and outflow. Of course, users will have manual control of the cooling fan.
Other features already confirmed and shown in the images include a fingerprint scanner buried in the power button, support for up to a 2TB MicroSD card, dual USB 4.0 Type-C ports, and the option of a Ryzen Z2 and a Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor. There will also be only one color option available.
Like the original Legion Go, Lenovo is expected to release accessories for the handheld, and Evan Blass has provided an image of a carry bag for the device. The bag appears to be made from canvas and is shown to be padded to provide some degree of protection for the Legion Go 2. It is not known if this is the accessory that will ship with the Legion Go 2 or if it will be a hard case like that of the first gen Legion Go.
