With the LOQ 17IRX10, Lenovo offers an exciting mid-range gaming laptop in a particularly competitive market segment. For about $1,500, buyers get a fast Intel Core i7-14700HX and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 with a TGP of 115 watts.
In order to get the best possible performance out of this graphics card, Lenovo supports GPU overclocking, which is why the LOQ 17 achieves very good benchmark results. For example, the 17-inch laptop outperforms many other RTX 5070 rivals in our review, such as the MSI Crosshair A17 HX or the Gigabyte Gaming A16.
At the native resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels, the performance is high enough to smoothly play almost all current games at max settings. If the FPS numbers become a bit too low (e.g. in Borderlands 4), DLSS or Frame Generation helps, as usual.
With that being said, the LOQ 17 falls behind in some other categories. For example, the chassis could be of higher quality. The display brightness, port placement and battery capacity also leave some room for improvement.
