    LG’s stunning 2025 C5 series OLED TV gets a massive $1,200 discount – NotebookCheck.net News

The LG C5 is brighter than its predecessor and much better at fighting off glare in bright rooms. (Image source: LG USA / Notebookcheck, edited)

The LG C5 hits the sweet spot for anyone considering their first 4K OLED TV, delivering the picture quality and versatility you’d expect from a flagship without the eye-watering price tag. Even better, Woot is currently offering the 65-inch C5 at its lowest price yet, a rare chance to pick up one of 2025’s best OLEDs at a bargain.

If you’re finally ready to leave your old LED TV behind and upgrade to an OLED, the LG C5 is an excellent choice, offering a great balance of premium picture quality, versatility, and price. And with the 65-inch model currently 44% off at Woot, this is a great opportunity to bring home one of the best OLED TVs of 2025 at its lowest price ever.

Woot has the 65-inch LG C5 on sale for $1,500, down from its launch price of $2,700. That’s an incredible $1,200 off on a premium OLED TV that’s not even a year old. This is a brand-new set, mind you, not a refurbished or demo unit, and covered by LG’s 1-year warranty on parts and labor. At LG’s official website and Amazon, this model is still going for around $1,800. Note that Woot lists this as the “International Version,” and while the product description doesn’t spell out what that actually means, US buyers should be aware that the software interface may differ, and you may not get all the same streaming apps as the US model. We’ve reached out to Woot for clarification and will update this article if we receive a response.

One of the best mid-range OLED TVs of 2025

The LG C5 is a 2025 mid-range OLED TV, slotting between the flagship G5 series and entry-level B4 series. It builds upon last year’s highly rated C4 series with a brighter panel, a more powerful processor for 4K upscaling, and a revamped remote. The C5 uses the same WOLED panel as the C4, but it gets significantly brighter, with Rtings measuring a peak HDR brightness of 1,075 nits (10% APL) and 622 nits peak SDR brightness (10% APL). LG is also using a new antiglare coating, which, combined with the increased brightness, helps the C5 significantly reduce reflections in bright rooms while still delivering the perfect deep blacks and punchy colors people have come to love from OLED.

The TV is also well-suited for serious gamers, boasting a 120Hz native refresh rate and up to 144Hz variable refresh rate (VRR) for a smooth gaming experience, as well as support for NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync. You also get robust connectivity options, with four HDMI 2.1 ports, three USB 2.0 ports, optical digital audio input, RF input, Ethernet port, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3.

The 2025 model has a new Alpha 9 AI Processor Gen8 inside, which promises improved image upscaling and smoother motions. One area where the C5 may let some people down is its lack of support for DTS audio passthrough, something that’s available on the C4. This shouldn’t affect most users as major streaming services predominantly use Dolby Atmos, but something to keep in mind if you own a collection of physical media encoded in DTS.

The LG C5 series comes with a redesigned Magic Remote that’s much more compact than its predecessor. It ditches the number pad and dedicated input and mute buttons, while adding a new AI button for summoning LG’s voice assistant (Note: LG no longer supports Google Assistant) and other AI features. On the software front, the TV runs the latest version of LG’s WebOS, with the company promising five years of guaranteed software updates.
