Meta Connect, a live-stream event held by Meta, is the company’s big reveal of new technologies being developed and released for the upcoming year.
What to Expect at Meta Connect 2026
Meta Connect 2026 hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it will probably happen sometime in September or October.
We expect more AI talk, additional details about Orion—the company’s upcoming holographic, full-augmented-reality glasses—and possibly information on the Meta Quest 4 VR headset.
We also wouldn’t be surprised if the Meta smartwatch made an appearance.
How to Attend the Event
Meta Connect 2026 will be streamed live. Those interested in updates on the schedule, speakers, topics, etc., can follow #MetaConnect on Facebook and Instagram.
Registration isn’t necessary to view the virtual event, and you can watch sessions on Facebook and in Meta Horizon.
If you’re unable to attend, some of the sessions will be recorded and viewable on the Meta for Developers Facebook page and the Meta Developers YouTube channel.
Previous Meta Connect Events
Meta Connect 2025 focused on wearable AI and platform updates. No new Quest hardware was announced, but Meta did highlight Horizon OS improvements; things like better mixed reality performance and hand tracking for current Quest devices. It was also revealed that Discord would be arriving on the Quest.
Smart glasses were the main focus last year. Meta introduced Meta Ray-Ban Display, its first consumer smart glasses with a built-in visual display. A small color display in the lens shows notifications, navigation, captions, and translations. The glasses support voice commands via Meta AI, photo capture, open ear audio, and input through the Meta Neural Band. Pricing starts at $799 in the US.
Meta also revealed the sport-focused smart glasses line called Oakley Meta Vanguard. These models don’t have a display but do have better durability, plus fitness features and support for apps like Garmin and Strava. Prices start at $499.
