MG Motor Malaysia Reveals MGS5 EV Pricing, Starting from RM115,900 – Launch Offer Brings It Down to RM109,900
MG Motor Malaysia has officially unveiled the prices of its all-new MGS5 EV, a sleek and practical B-segment electric SUV. Available in two variants with a choice of two battery capacities, the MGS5 EV starts at RM115,900 for the COM variant with a 49kWh battery, RM125,900 for the COM Long Range with a 62kWh battery, and RM135,900 for the range-topping LUX Long Range variant.
To celebrate its launch and MG’s first anniversary in Malaysia, the brand is extending an exclusive early access deal for the first 500 buyers. Customers who book early will receive RM6,000 in savings, bringing the entry price down to just RM109,900, along with a free 7kW Wallbox AC home charger to make EV ownership more convenient.
“With the official pricing now revealed, the MGS5 EV represents one of the best value propositions in the electric SUV segment,” said Emory QiFeng, Managing Director of SAIC Motor Malaysia. “We’re offering Malaysian drivers a compelling EV that delivers on technology, design, and performance — all at a highly accessible price.”
The MGS5 EV comes in five colour options: Arctic White, Monument Silver, Camden Grey, Dynamic Red, and Elegant Latte, offering customers a refined look that complements its modern EV design.
Warranty and Ownership Benefits
Each purchase of the MGS5 EV includes a comprehensive ownership package:
- 7-year/150,000km vehicle warranty
- 8-year/180,000km high-voltage battery pack warranty
- 8-year/160,000km drive motor and motor control unit warranty
- Complimentary 7kW Wallbox charger
Variants and Performance
The MGS5 EV is available in COM and LUX variants:
- The COM variant is offered with either a 49kWh battery (340km WLTP range) or a 62kWh Long Range battery (430km range).
- The LUX variant comes exclusively with the 62kWh battery, also offering up to 430km of range.
All models deliver 170PS and 250Nm of torque via a rear-wheel drive system — currently unique in its class — and support 7kW AC charging. The LUX variant also supports DC fast charging up to 150kW, achieving 10% to 80% charge in just 26 minutes.
Premium features exclusive to the LUX include 18-inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, leather-fabric seats with perforated MG logos, powered driver’s seat, heated leather steering wheel, wireless phone charging, six premium speakers, powered tailgate, and a 360-degree surround view camera.
Standard features across all variants include LED headlamps with ‘Racing Flag’ DRLs, MG’s Arch Taillights, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen with voice command, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and MG iSMART connectivity. Boot space is an impressive 1,441 litres, including the underfloor compartment.
The vehicle’s ultra-thin horizontal battery layout enhances cabin space and lowers the centre of gravity, while an adaptive pressure control system improves battery safety and durability.
