More PlayStation Plus free games leak for Extra and Premium subscribers in October – NotebookCheck.net News
October 21st may be one of the more lucrative days for PS Plus subscribers. Survival horror fans on the Extra tier will receive several PlayStation Plus free games to supplement Silent Hill 2. Premium members can expect a classic brawler and remake one of the most popular action-adventure titles.
Leaker billbil-kun already reported that Silent Hill 2 would headline the new PlayStation Plus games launching on October 21st. Now, gamers know about five other titles available soon for Extra and Premium tier members. Predictably, many are horror-themed just in time for Halloween. Still, there will also be a classic fighter and action-adventure game to round out the selections.
With the recent debut of Silent Hill F, Silent Hill 2 will receive much of the attention this month. PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers can experience the reimagined version of the survival horror game. Many fans consider it the best in the Konami series, with a unique narrative culminating in different endings depending on player choices.
In the same genre, Until Dawn will join Silent Hill 2 as a free game for Extra tier members. Much like its Konami counterpart, the 2024 remake offers an interactive storyline that changes based on a gamer’s actions.
The other PlayStation Plus Extra games arriving on October 21st include As Dusk Falls and V Rising. As Dusk Falls will please fans of crime-themed graphic novels. However, despite a solid 77 Metacritic rating, some players find that the story falls apart toward the end. Fitting for the season, V Rising allows gamers to control a vampire, fighting for survival in a bleak open-world environment.
Adding diversity to the PlayStation Plus October games
PlayStation Plus Premium members can also discover why Tekken and Tomb Raider are both beloved franchises. The 1997 Tekken 3 introduced a wider range of movement, making it feel like a true 3D fighting game. Meanwhile, Tomb Raider: Anniversary modernizes the original Lara Croft adventure. Graphics and controls benefit, but some critics complain about a lack of challenge when exploring and puzzle-solving.
Billbil-kun expects Sony to announce the additional PlayStation Plus free games shortly. Gamers may also see more titles added to attract new subscribers this October.
