Motorola launches two new entry-level smartphones with Helio G81 chipset and 50 MP camera – NotebookCheck.net News

Motorola has launched two new smartphones in its G-series lineup: the Moto G17 and the Moto G17 Power. The company’s two new entry-level smartphones share very similar specs and design, including a MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme processor, a 60 Hz LCD display, a 50 MP Sony LYTIA 600 main camera, and up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage.

Motorola has expanded its G-series lineup by launching multiple (two entry-level and two mid-range) smartphones. Speaking more precisely, the company has unveiled the Moto G17, the Moto G17 Power, the Moto G67, and the G77 in the global market. We already covered the latter two devices, and you can read about them here.

The Moto G17 and the Moto G17 Power are budget-focused smartphones, and both share very similar specifications, albeit with some tweaks. As far as the chipset is concerned, the G17 and the G17 Power are powered by the same MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme chipset coupled with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 1 TB via microSD card.

Design-wise, both come with an identical design, featuring a triple rear camera setup. This camera setup boasts a 50 MP Sony LYTIA 600 primary sensor, a 5 MP ultrawide shooter, and a flicker reduction sensor. Upfront, you’re getting a 32 MP snapper for capturing selfies and video chats. Furthermore, they have the same display specs as well, boasting a 6.72-inch display that outputs at FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. There’s Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top, which is said to protect them against accidental falls and scratches.

What makes them different is their battery capacity. The G17 Power boasts a large 6,000 mAh battery with support for 30 W wired charging. On the other hand, the G17 ships with a slightly smaller 5,200 mAh battery with 18 W wired charging support. Another major difference is that the former weighs 201.5 grams (0.44 lbs), while the latter is slightly lighter, coming in at 189.9 grams (0.41 lbs).

Both devices run Android 15-based Hello UX out of the box, but unfortunately, there’s no word on its software support from the brand. The direct successors to the Moto G15 and the G15 Power (curr. at $128.57 on Amazon) are available in Pantone Bordeaux, Pantone Alaskan Blue, and Pantone Evening Blue color options. Other features include an IP64 water resistance rating, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and NFC support. There’s no word on its price or availability at the time of writing.
