MWC 2026: Dates, News, Announcements, and Everything Else to Know
The global mobile event is back with big plans
Updated on January 24, 2026
Mobile World Congress (or MWC) is a series of annual mobile events presented by the GSMA (Global System for Mobile Communications). The events gather industry professionals from mobility and connectivity technology areas.
If it’s a mobile device (such as a smartphone or some other type of device that can be taken and used on the go) or related to mobile or cellular connectivity, it’s fair game for MWC.
What Are the Dates for the Next MWC?
The next MWC event is MWC Barcelona, which runs from March 2-5, 2026.
MWC 2026 Speakers
MWC will feature industry leaders discussing the latest advancements in technology, offering insights similar to those shared in pre-event panels.
For example, during a Mobile World Live panel ahead of the 2025 event, Ansys CTO Prith Banerjee explored how simulation and AI are revolutionizing product development, reducing design time by 9x and improving quality 1000x. Ansys’ platform streamlines workflows for faster, more accurate simulations.

MWC 2025 Recap
The 2025 event offered a glimpse at several new phones and buzzy concepts as usual. Here are a few highlights:
- From Lenovo, we saw upgraded ThinkPads and some conceptual tech: a super-light solar-powered Yoga and a ThinkBook laptop with a rollable display that can can take on five different configurations.
- Samsung announced its new slate of budget and mid-range phones in the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy A26, and a foldable gaming console concept.
- Xiaomi’s new 200MP camera in the 15 Ultra is impressive enough to compete with a DSLR. It even has a modular ring to which you can attach a zoom lens.
MWC 2024 Recap
MWC Barcelona had its share of gadget reveals and developments, both regular and strange.
Humane took its AI Pin. It’s a device that you clip to your shirt, and then it tethers to your phone to run generative AI chatbot functions. It has a little projector instead of a screen, a camera to scan and interpret its surroundings, and a $699 price.
Lenovo brought out an interesting concept: a computer with a clear screen. The ThinkBook Transparent Display Laptop has a 17.3-inch LED screen that you can see straight through. Why you’d want to do that isn’t as clear as the laptop, but it looks interesting. This concept is on a similar level to last year’s Lenovo contribution, the laptop that rolls up.
