Gremory Games officially launched Taimanin Squad on Steam and mobile platforms on March 4, 2026. While previous titles like Action Taimanin was all about real-time hack-and-slash combat, Squad moves into the turn-based strategy space. The global launch followed a pre-registration period that reportedly hit 300,000 users, unlocking a variety of “Grand Open” login rewards, including a premium recruit ticket and the 5-star character Igawa Asagi for early players.

The Taimanin franchise has been well-known for its “mature” roots, but Taimanin Squad – much like its predecessor Action Taimanin – is marketed as a safer-for-work (SFW) experience. The game itself is set in Tokyo Kingdom City, a “Demon City” where players lead a joint force of Taimanins and UFS troops against invading hellspawn. Despite the high pre-registration numbers, player feedback on platforms like Reddit has been cautious – some beta testers are saying that the game has recycled assets from previous games and a significant difficulty spike in later chapters.

The transition to turn-based mechanics looks to be an attempt to get into the gacha market. The initial “Mixed” rating is a problem, however, as early reviews have expressed concerns regarding the balance of free currency income versus store pricing. However, as a free-to-play title, Taimanin Squad is a low-risk game for fans of the universe.
