Only $4.99 in Steam Summer Sale: “Most authentic” FPS adaption of iconic sci-fi franchise is now 90% off – NotebookCheck.net News

RoboCop: Rogue City is now on sale on Steam at a humongous 90% discount. Retailing for just $4.99, RoboCop: Rogue City is a fun sci-fi FPS that remains true to the vision of the movies with first-person shooting, an 80s look, and a RoboCop-esque story.

It is rare for video games based on movie franchises to truly capture the look and feel of the source. While many games have tried it, few have succeeded, and RoboCop: Rogue City falls in the latter camp.

Developed by Teyon and published by Nacon in 2023, RoboCop: Rogue City is a fun, action-adventure FPS based on the iconic movies of the same name. IGN describes the title as “a pitch-perfect throwback to the action movies of the ‘80s” and one that succeeds in “capturing the look and feel of the original film”.

So, if you are a fan of RoboCop or action movies of the 1980s, RoboCop: Rogue City should be right up your alley. Thanks to the Steam Summer Sale, the game is now going for just $4.99, a 90% discount.

RoboCop: Rogue City is nostalgic and ultra-violent

While RoboCop: Rogue City has its share of issues, mostly related to the technical side of things and the average main story, the game looks pretty good thanks to UE5, is fun to play, and, for fans of the movies, is a super nostalgic trip.

RoboCop: Rogue City takes place in the sci-fi “Old Detroit” with its grimy vintage look, street gangs, and more. RoboCop, voiced by the original actor Peter Weller, is tasked with hunting down and stopping Wendell Antonowsky, the top bad guy who wants to take control of the city.

The standard action movie plot provides plenty of opportunities for players to shoot their way through hordes of enemies with RoboCop’s trusty Auto 9 pistol. Players can also drop the Auto 9 for weapons dropped by fallen enemies. This shooting accompanies plenty of blood and destruction as the game is rated PG18.

The main story of the game is quite linear, as RoboCop investigates the new threat, which takes him to iconic locations like the Omni Consumer Products (OCP) HQ. Additionally, there are plenty of side missions to do, including police work. The main and side quests take around 20 hours to finish, if you want to complete all quests.

Combine all the above with a simple skill tree and plenty of fan service that is present throughout the game, and RoboCop: Rogue City is dumb fun done right.

    RoboCop: Rogue City system requirements

RoboCop: Rogue City is built on UE5 and relies on UE5 technologies like Lumen and Nanite. So, it requires decent hardware to run smoothly. As such, gamers will need:
