POCO has officially expanded its smartphone lineup in Malaysia with the launch of the new POCO M8 5G and POCO M8 Pro 5G, marking a major evolution of the POCO M Series into the competitive mid-range segment. With a strong focus on entertainment, battery life and durability, the new devices aim to bring flagship-inspired features to everyday users who want powerful performance without stepping into premium pricing territory.

Leading the series is the POCO M8 Pro 5G, which adopts an entertainment-first approach with significant upgrades across its battery, display, performance and camera system. One of its standout features is a large 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery designed for long-term use, with POCO claiming a lifespan of up to six years. This is paired with 100W HyperCharge technology that can fully charge the device in around 40 minutes, while 22.5W reverse charging allows the phone to double as a power bank for accessories such as earbuds or smartwatches. POCO’s intelligent battery management system further optimises charging efficiency and safety across daily usage scenarios.

For visual and audio experiences, the POCO M8 Pro 5G is equipped with a 6.83-inch 1.5K CrystalRes Flow AMOLED display that supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. With a peak brightness of up to 3,200 nits, the screen remains clearly visible even under direct sunlight, while high-frequency PWM dimming and DC dimming help reduce eye strain during extended viewing sessions. Audio is handled by dual 1115F speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support, delivering rich and immersive sound, complemented by a 400 percent volume boost for clearer audio in outdoor environments.

Performance sees a major leap forward for the M Series, as the POCO M8 Pro 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 Mobile Platform, achieving an AnTuTu score exceeding one million. This translates into faster app launches, smoother multitasking and more stable gaming performance. To sustain performance during extended use, POCO has introduced its IceLoop Cooling System with real liquid cooling for the first time in the M Series. Connectivity is also enhanced with the Xiaomi Surge T1S Tuner for improved signal stability, alongside Xiaomi Offline Communication, which enables voice calls over long distances without cellular networks. The POCO M8 Series is now available in Malaysia in Silver, Black and Green colour options. Promotional pricing from 8 to 18 January 2026 sees the POCO M8 Pro 5G priced from RM1,099 for the 8GB + 256GB variant and RM1,299 for the 12GB + 512GB model, while the POCO M8 5G starts from RM859 for the 8GB + 256GB variant and RM959 for the 8GB + 512GB option.
