Portable 27-inch monitor with Google TV, battery and built-in soundbar launches with discount – NotebookCheck.net News
The MobiView is a portable TV and monitor that’s now crowdfunding on Kickstarter. This device runs on Google TV, features an integrated soundbar and a battery that’s supposed to last up to five hours on a full charge.
MobiView is currently crowdfunding a new product on Kickstarter. This campaign for a new portable TV and monitor still has a month to go, and so far it has raised $23,800.
Those interested in the product can reserve a unit by pledging $499, which constitutes a 29% discount according to the manufacturer. The usual risks or crowdfunding campaigns should be taken into account here. Shipping is expected to begin in March 2026 and will be offered worldwide.
The MobiView is a portable display that can be used both as a TV or as a monitor for gaming, work and similar use cases. Compared to competing displays, this one tries to stand out from the crowd with its low weight and better portability. The MobiView weighs around 12 lbs and, thanks to its suitcase-like design with a handle, can be easily transported from one place to another.
The content is displayed on a 27-inch panel with a FHD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 60Hz refresh rate and 400 nits of brightness. Audio output is handled by two speakers rated at 8 watts and two rated at 4 watts, Dolby Audio is supported as well. The portable monitor further sports 8GB RAM, 128GB of mass storage and a 38,400mAh battery that is expected to provide up to five hours of runtime.
That being said, the MobiView is certainly not a traditional TV with a built-in tuner. Instead, it is a smart TV that’s designed for streaming and relies on Google TV based on Android 14. This setup provides access to pretty much all streaming apps such as Netflix, Disney Plus and others. Internet access is available via WiFi or Ethernet, while the connectivity options include HDMI 2.1, USB 2.0 and an audio jack. Last but not least, an optional 2K HD webcam can be hooked up to the MobiView portable TV or monitor and is being offered as part of a bundle.
