Realme GT 8 Pro: Ricoh GR camera similar to Oppo Find X9 Pro won’t beat the Hasselblad flagship – NotebookCheck.net News

Realme recently shared many detailed specs of the Realme GT8 Pro’s cameras, battery, chassis and audio system. It also provided a software update promise for Realme UI 7. Regarding the Ricoh GR camera, the specs are very similar to those of the Hasselblad camera on the Oppo Find X9 Pro, but there are some noteworthy differences.

Alexander Fagot (translated by Enrico Frahn), Published 10/19/2025 🇩🇪 🇪🇸

Realme’s Vice President has been very active on Weibo over the past few days and shared a lot of technical specifications of the Realme GT 8 Pro before the Ricoh GR camera flagship will be officially unveiled on October 21. Some details and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC have already been confirmed, and there are further info in terms of battery specs, chassis, cameras and some other aspects of the upcoming Realme smartphone.

The cameras of this phone are the obvious highlight and the first result of the new cooperation between the former Oppo subsidiary and the Japanese photo experts from Ricoh GR. Comparing the triple-cam specs with those of the Oppo Find X9 Pro reveals numerous similarities, even though the Hasselblad camera flagship clearly maintains the upper hand in some respects. Both phones use a 50MP main camera, but the Realme flagship’s “anti-glare lens” uses a 1/1.56-inch sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, compared to the larger 1/1.28-inch sensor with an f/1.5 aperture on the Oppo Find X9 Pro.

The ultrawide-angle is slightly less wide with a 116-degree FOV, as the current Oppo flagship as a 120-degree ultrawide-angle. The aperture is the same at f/2.0. The 200MP sensor behind the 3x periscope telephoto lens is also similar, with a 1/1.56-inch sensor on both phones. That said, Oppo is slightly ahead here as well. Realme’s zoom camera has an aperture of f/2.6, while Oppo’s aperture of f/2.1 is significantly more light sensitive. Both have a telemacro feature, but Oppo can focus on objects that are just 10 cm away, while Realme needs a distance of 25 cm.

Just like Oppo, Realme offers a 4K120 option for ultra-high-resolution slow-motion recordings, even in Dolby Vision and 10-bit Log. Beyond the camera, the Realme GT 8 Pro offers several improvements, such as battery life. Despite a thinner chassis compared to the Realme GT 7 Pro, the 7,000mAh battery is 500mAh bigger and still fits into the IP69-certified chassis. The phone also features 120W fast-charging and can now also be charged wirelessly with up to 50W.

In additional teaser posters, Realme also advertises a new sound system, better 5G connectivity with support for 21 5G bands and an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Last but not least, the company also promises an update for the new Android user interface, Realme UI 7.0. Four years of Android updates and five years of security updates may not sound as impressive as Samsung’s seven years, but this is quite respectable for the Chinese market, as these manufacturers have been rather hesitant with software update guarantees.
