Rogbid is entering the kids’ smartwatch market with the K1, which comes with GPS tracking, 4G calls, an AMOLED display, and SOS support – priced at $69.99 for a limited time via the official store.
Kids’ smartwatches are quickly becoming a big segment in the wearables market. Rogbid, which is slowly creating a name for itself in the budget-focused smartwatches niche with its recent launches (like the GeoX1 and Model S), is now launching its first child-oriented model – the Rogbid K1.
The K1 looks to be a practical solution for families needing core safety features, real-time location tracking, and video calling, all wrapped in a kid-friendly form factor. Priced at $69.99 during its launch promotion (ongoing right now), it can be purchased via the official Rogbid online store.
The K1 has a 1.78-inch AMOLED screen. It supports 4G global connectivity for voice and video calls across most network bands. For safety, the K1 uses triple-mode location tracking – GPS, LBS, and Wi-Fi – which parents can access through a connected app. Location history is also available, and an SOS button lets children send a distress signal with a single tap.
Other important features include a camera for HD photos and video calls, along with several built-in mini-apps for learning and fun. Rogbid claims that the 800mAh battery delivers up to 7 days of standby time. IP67 water resistance rating should cover typical outdoor use and splashes as well.
Available in pink, blue, and black, the watch comes bundled with a strap, charger, and user manual. While the K1 doesn’t break any new ground in terms of features, it presents a useful set of features at a pretty decent price, so parents looking for a first-time smartwatch for their kids could definitely consider this as a viable option.
