Samsung confirms a “new foldable product” is headed your way later this year

While details are scarce, the device could be the rumored “Wide Fold” seen in recent leaks.

The rumor mill offered a glimpse into Samsung’s foldable ambitions last month, with a report suggesting the company is working on a new foldable phone designed to deliver a tablet-like experience. This device is expected to take on the upcoming iPhone Fold, which is also rumored to feature a shorter, wider design. Although Samsung has yet to share any details about the so-called “Wide Fold,” the company has confirmed a new foldable phone is in development and set to arrive later this year.

Samsung’s plans were revealed during its Q4 2025 earnings call, where the company acknowledged the ongoing pressures from rising component prices. While outlining its growth strategy for 2026, Seong Cho, head of marketing for Samsung’s mobile division, said the company plans to lean on its AI technology leadership and stable supply chain to drive growth this year.

Following the launch of the Galaxy S26 series in the first quarter, Samsung expects to “drive revenue growth through sustained sales of foldables, which are showing strong sales momentum.” Later in the second half of 2026, the company plans to “launch a new foldable product with enhanced competitiveness to pursue further growth.”

This new foldable product could be the rumored “Wide Fold”

While Samsung didn’t share any details during the earnings call, the new foldable could be the same “Wide Fold” device that leaked last month. According to the leak, the device could feature a 7.6-inch foldable display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, making it shorter and wider than the Galaxy Z Fold 7. By comparison, Apple’s upcoming iPhone Fold is rumored to feature a 7.69-inch foldable display with the same aspect ratio.

On the outside, Samsung’s new foldable is said to include a 5.4-inch cover screen, making it slightly larger than the iPhone Fold’s rumored 4.75-inch outer display. The Wide Fold is also tipped to support 25W wireless charging and could launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 this fall.

Samsung has already expanded its foldable lineup with the launch of the Galaxy Z TriFold, which goes on sale in the US tomorrow at an eye-watering $2,899. With another foldable product reportedly in the works, Samsung could be looking to broaden its offerings even further, and the company’s promise of “enhanced competitiveness” suggests it may not be quite as hard on the wallet.

Samsung Galaxy S26 series price leak is a sigh of relief

Against the backdrop of a global memory crisis, Samsung’s rumored Galaxy S26 pricing could finally bring rare relief to flagship buyers, if the leak holds true.

I’ve been covering developments related to the ongoing memory crisis for months now, but this update is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. Apparently, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, the best in Samsung’s upcoming lineup, could cost less than the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The claim comes from tipster Roland Quandt (via a post on BlueSky Social). He claims that the entry- and mid-level variants of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, with 256GB and 512GB storage, respectively, could be €100 cheaper at launch.

Your WhatsApp could become safer with stricter controls on unknown messages

WhatsApp’s new lockdown mode is basically “Do Not Disturb, but for strangers”

WhatsApp is finally handing users the keys to a digital fortress. On January 27, 2026, the company announced a massive update that goes well beyond the usual bug fixes and sticker packs. They are calling it “Strict Account Settings,” but honestly, it feels more like a “Lockdown Mode” for your personal life. It is a new, optional security layer designed to make your account incredibly difficult for hackers, scammers, and creeps to penetrate.

We all know the internet has become a slightly terrifying place lately. Between sophisticated phishing attacks and the constant barrage of spam calls, relying on standard privacy settings often feels like locking your front door but leaving the window open. While WhatsApp has long championed its end-to-end encryption, that only protects the content of your messages. It doesn’t stop a stranger from adding you to a shady crypto group or a hacker from sending a malicious file that compromises your phone. That is exactly where this new update steps in.

Samsung’s next budget Galaxy-A phone appears in a leak with a tiring look

Another year, another Galaxy A phone that looks identical, as Samsung’s leaked A37 reinforces safe design choices over experimentation in a competitive, style-driven budget market.

Hours after the renders of the Galaxy A57 series surfaced on the internet, renders of the Galaxy A37 are here as well. They’re yet another example of how obvious and boring Samsung’s recent smartphones have become, especially in design.

It doesn’t take more than a glance to figure out that the purported Galaxy A37 looks awfully similar to the current-generation Galaxy A36 5G.
