Samsung Galaxy A07 leak reveals 40% faster processor for entry-level smartphone – NotebookCheck.net News
Samsung is reportedly planning to release a new entry-level smartphone soon: the Galaxy A07. According to a recent leak, the device will feature extended update support and a processor that is 40% faster than its predecessor – all at a budget-friendly price.
The successor to the Samsung Galaxy A06 (approx. $110 on Amazon), released in August 2024, could be announced in August this year. Xpertpick recently spotted the Galaxy A07 in the Google Play Console. Based on the listing, Samsung appears to be making only minor tweaks to the design, with the entry-level smartphone set to retain a thick display chin, a notch for the front-facing camera, and a textured back cover.
One design update is the pill-shaped module housing the dual rear cameras, replacing the individual cut-outs seen on the A06. So far, only a handful of details have been revealed about the Galaxy A07, also known by the model number “SM-A075F”. Crucially, Samsung is reportedly swapping out the MediaTek Helio G85 (used in the Galaxy A06) for the newer MediaTek Helio G99. Introduced back in 2022, the 6-nm ARM processor is somewhat outdated and includes only two ARM Cortex-A76 performance cores running at up to 2.2 GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. Even so, it’s still significantly faster than the Helio G85.
According to our benchmark results, the Helio G99 delivers roughly 80% higher single-thread performance and 40% better multi-core performance than the Helio G85. Samsung seems to be pairing the processor with 6 GB of RAM, at least in one configuration. The leak also suggests that the affordable smartphone will feature a screen resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and Android 15 at launch. Pricing and availability have yet to be announced for the Galaxy A07.
