Samsung Galaxy S26 series go official, 512GB base storage for Malaysia, from RM5199

Samsung has officially unveiled the new Samsung Galaxy S26 series, introducing its third generation of AI-powered smartphones designed to simplify everyday tasks through more proactive, adaptive and intuitive Galaxy AI experiences.

The lineup — consisting of the Samsung Galaxy S26, Samsung Galaxy S26+ and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra — focuses on reducing the steps required to complete common actions such as managing schedules, searching for information, capturing content and editing photos. Samsung says many complex processes now run quietly in the background, allowing users to focus on outcomes rather than technology.

Pre-orders in Malaysia begin on 26 February 2026, with promotional offers available until 10 March 2026, including rebates, trade-in savings and bundled rewards.

At the top of the range, the Galaxy S26 Ultra introduces Samsung’s new built-in Privacy Display, a hardware-level solution designed to limit side-angle viewing while maintaining full clarity for the user. Unlike traditional privacy films, the integrated system can activate automatically for sensitive actions such as entering passwords or opening selected apps, and allows adjustable privacy levels depending on the situation.

Performance across the series is powered by Samsung’s most advanced hardware yet. The Galaxy S26 Ultra features a customised Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, delivering notable gains in CPU, GPU and AI processing capabilities. Improvements include faster responsiveness during multitasking, enhanced graphics performance for gaming and stronger neural processing to support always-on AI features. A redesigned vapor chamber cooling system helps maintain consistent performance under heavy workloads.

Battery charging also sees an upgrade, with 60W Super-Fast Charging 3.0 capable of reaching up to 75 percent in around 30 minutes, reducing downtime during busy days.

Camera capabilities remain a key highlight. The Galaxy S26 series integrates Samsung’s latest imaging technologies to deliver improved low-light performance, enhanced video stabilisation and more natural skin tones, including for the front camera. The Ultra model introduces wider apertures for brighter photos, upgraded Nightography Video for clearer footage in dim environments and a horizontal lock option in Super Steady mode for more stable recording during movement.

For content creators, the device also supports a new professional video codec designed for high-quality production workflows while maintaining efficient file sizes. AI-powered editing tools built into the Gallery app allow users to modify images using simple natural language prompts, automatically adjust scenes, restore missing elements and even alter clothing details in photos. A unified Creative Studio workspace enables users to turn sketches or ideas into polished visuals without switching between multiple apps.

Beyond photography, Galaxy AI introduces features aimed at improving productivity. Now Nudge offers context-aware suggestions based on user activity, while Now Brief surfaces timely reminders for events and travel plans. Circle to Search has been enhanced with multi-object recognition, allowing users to identify multiple items within a single image simultaneously.

Samsung’s upgraded Bixby assistant now functions as a conversational device agent capable of understanding natural language commands, while additional AI agents such as Gemini and Perplexity can perform complex multi-step tasks across apps, including booking services or managing schedules.

Security and privacy remain central to the experience. The Galaxy S26 series integrates layered protections through Samsung Knox, including AI-powered call screening, privacy alerts for suspicious app behaviour and a Private Album feature for hiding sensitive photos and videos. The devices also incorporate post-quantum cryptography enhancements to protect system integrity against future threats, along with seven years of security updates.

When paired with the new Galaxy Buds4 series, users can extend AI interactions through voice commands and gesture controls, enabling hands-free operation in situations where using a phone is inconvenient.

In Malaysia, pricing for the Galaxy S26 series starts at RM5,199 for the Galaxy S26 (512GB), RM6,199 for the Galaxy S26+ (512GB), RM6,799 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra (512GB) and RM7,999 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra (1TB). The devices are available in multiple colour options including Cobalt Violet, White, Black and Sky Blue.
