Roland Quandt and WinFuture have offered greater clues that Samsung is preparing to adopt the Qi2 wireless charging protocol. While the Galaxy S25 (curr. $437 – renewed on Amazon) and its larger siblings are ‘Qi2 ready’, none of Samsung’s flagships have lack the magnets to be fully Qi2 compatible. However, the appearance of the Magnetic Wireless Powerbank (EB-U2500) indicates that this could be on the verge of changing with the Galaxy S26 series.

After being spotted last month on the Wireless Power Consortium, Roland Quandt and WinFuture have discovered new information about Samsung’s Magnetic Wireless Powerbank before its official release. Specifically, Quandt claims that the EB-U2500 contains a 5,000 mAh capacity. If that is the case, then the EB-U2500 will be unable to provide a full charge to the Galaxy S26, let alone the larger Galaxy S26 Plus or the Galaxy S26 Ultra assuming wireless charging efficiency losses.

If wireless charging at 15 W is not fast enough, then the EB-U2500 also has a single USB Type-C port for topping up devices at 25 W. Apparently, Samsung intends to charge €59.99 (~$70) for the EB-U2500 in Europe too, which is on the high side considering the accessory’s capabilities.
