Samsung has essentially confirmed that it will be introducing a new privacy display with the Galaxy S26 series. Rumoured to be a Galaxy S26 Ultra exclusive, evidence new functionality has reemerged just a few days before Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked launch event.
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra is set to introduce a built-in privacy display, which the company teased at the end of January. Shortly afterwards, other display details emerged via a renowned leaker. Now, leaked screenshots have provided a more detailed picture of how Samsung’s privacy display could work.
As 9to5Google notes, these screenshots originally surfaced in October. Repackaged without attribution and re-shared, the screenshots indicate that Samsung plans to offer numerous customisation options at launch. For instance, October’s leak showed an option for triggering privacy display only in public places.
Based on the AI-generated video below, this setting has made it into One UI 8.5 release software. Thus, we can reasonably suspect that Samsung has also integrated other settings, such as custom conditions and the option to prevent showing your screen lock.
Currently, sources like Ice Universe predict that this software will remain a Galaxy S26 Ultra exclusive. Thus, even the Galaxy Z Fold7 (curr. $1,039.99 – refurbished on Amazon) is unlikely to receive them despite being a current-generation flagship. Samsung will present the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy Buds 4 series on February 25 during its next Galaxy Unpacked event.
