Polish game studio Bloober Team has stated that it intends to extend the Cronos IP in the future, even as it currently splits its resources across 5 different projects, including the highly anticipated Silent Hill 1 Remake.

Polish studio, Bloober Team, known for Silent Hill 2 Remake and the Layers of Fear series, has revealed long-term plans for its latest IP, Cronos: The New Dawn, just weeks after the game released on September 5, 2025.

In a recent Q&A investor session covered by Stockwatch, Bloober’s Management mentioned that the studio would be working on evolving Cronos beyond the franchise’s initial outline, even as the core development team pivots its focus to a new unannounced project. It’s reported that the studio is working on five new projects, including a major title separate from the ongoing Silent Hill 1 Remake, now in full production, and projected for a 2027 release.

During the session, Bloober Team management stated, “Cronos is our first major IP. The Team responsible for it has now started working on another project, but we definitely intend to further expand the IP in the future, across many areas of exploitation. We have high hopes for it.”

It has been previously speculated that Bloober Team will revisit Cronos via multimedia expansions consisting of a potential sequel, a film or TV adaptation, or other media. So far however, there are no reports of a DLC in active development. However, Bloober was careful not to close the door entirely.

Cronos: The New Dawn achieved a respectable launch with over 200,000 copies sold across all platforms within three days of the game’s release. While it isn’t a breakout hit that many expected it to be, like the studio’s Silent Hill 2 Remake, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno stated that the game’s sales are progressing at a decent rate, with the game expected to break even at around 1 million sales.

Despite the game already having native support for Linux, Bloober Team recently announced a Steam Deck build for Cronos: The New Dawn. Players who still haven’t tried out the Dead Space and Resident Evil 4-inspired hellscape title with Xbox 360-era-inspired mechanics and controls can check out the game’s bleak and gritty world.

While it’s a step down from Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 Remake, Cronos: The New Dawn still offers some interesting visual storytelling and punishing, yet satisfying boss fights to keep players on the edge of their seats.
