Sleepagotchi Lite launches on Sony’s Soneium blockchain via Line Mini app

Soneium, the Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain developed by Sony Block Solutions Labs (SBSL) and Startale Group, announced the launch of Sleepagotchi Lite on the Line Mini app.

The viral game, which reached over two million users on Telegram, is now available to Line’s 200 million active users through this integration on Soneium.

“Soneium’s focus on creativity, immersion, and accessibility makes it the ideal partner to team up with the Line Mini app and Sleepagotchi, both of which share a similar vision,” said Jun Watanabe, chairman of Sony Block Solutions Labs, in a statement. “We’re thrilled to help bring Sleepagotchi to a massive new audience of over 200 million people — all with seamless, onchain onboarding to unlock the full potential of Web3.”

Sleepagotchi Lite will give users a head start on the upcoming 2.0 version of the Sleepagochi Sleep rewards mobile app, enabling them to earn points at any time throughout the day — no sleep tracking required — that will transfer to the full release. The Sleepagotchi Line game is fully playable, and we’re working on verification to enable LINE search discoverability.

    Soneium is Sony’s blockchain.

The integration allows users to play directly through LINE or via a web browser by logging in with their Line or Telegram accounts. The game supports payments in USDC and ASTR (Astar Network) tokens on Soneium so that new users have a seamless on-ramp to experience blockchain functionality.

“Sleep is the most important health habit, even more essential than exercise or diet,” said Anton Kraminkin, CEO of Sleepagotchi, in a statement. “Japan consistently gets the least sleep in the world, which is why it became the heart of our early community. Sleepagotchi is deeply inspired by Japanese culture — from its kawaii art style and gacha mechanics to JRPG elements. Our new mini-app, Sleepagotchi Lite, is designed to grow that community even further. It features the same beloved IP but without the sleep mechanics, making it a fun and accessible entry point. After becoming a Top 5 grossing app on Telegram, we’re excited to bring the Sleepagotchi universe to Soneium and Line, where over 200 million people connect every day.”

Sleepagotchi LITE features quick, engaging gameplay sessions accessible anytime with battle card game mechanics, collectible elements, and community features connecting players globally. By integrating with Line Mini app, Soneium is removing traditional barriers to blockchain adoption.

Sony said that over 100 consumer and gaming apps have launched on the Soneium chain.

The term “apps” is admittedly broad—definitions vary depending on the blockchain protocol context—but this figure includes a wide array of interactive, on-chain experiences. Most of those apps are live today and contributing to the ecosystem’s daily activity.

Sony said that Soneium is currently seeing an average of one million to 1.5 million daily transactions, with more than seven million wallet addresses and over $200 million in total locked value.
