Earlier today, billbil_kun claimed to have obtained details about Sony’s plans for its next PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) catalogue update. Initially, the leaker claimed that three triple-A games were to be offered to subscribers. However, Sony’s official announcement is more expansive than billbil_kun’s prior claims.

To recap, Red Dead Redemption, Skate Story and Lego Horizon Adventures (curr. $19 on Amazon) were added to the PS Plus catalog earlier this month. Now, Sony has confirmed that eight games will be available to play at no extra cost later this month, albeit with a few caveats. On the one hand, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Cat Quest III, Granblue Fantasy: Relink and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will be added on December 16 for the PlayStation 4 (PS4) and PlayStation 5 (PS5), as will Paw Patrol: Grand Prix and Paw Patrol World.

On the other hand, Planet Coaster 2 will be playable from the same date, but only for the PS5. By contrast, Soulcalibur III will be available for PS4 and PS5 gamers alike. One must be a PlayStation Plus Premium subscriber to access this enhanced version of the PS2 classic. Incidentally, purchasing any 12-month PS Plus membership on the PS5 between December 11 and January 12 will trigger a Sony Pictures Core Movie credit promo too.
