Sony confirms new WH-1000XM6 release in official teaser – NotebookCheck.net News

Sony has confirmed that it will be releasing a new version of the WH-1000XM6. Coinciding with the arrival of the WF-1000XM6, the new WH-1000XM6 release will mirror an equivalent refresh of the older WH-1000XM5, too.
Last week, Sony confirmed the imminent launch of the WF-1000XM6 earbuds. In short, the new earbuds will officially debut on February 12 at 16:00 UTC. Now, the company has revealed that it has more than just its long-awaited WF-1000XM5 successors lying in wait for later this week.
To recap, Sony initially released the WH-1000XM6 in May 2025 (curr. $398 on Amazon). Since launch, the company has offered its over-ear wireless headphones in three colours dubbed Black, Midnight Blue and Platinum Silver. However, Roland Quandt indicated last week that a Sandpink refresh was on the horizon.
Now, Sony has hinted that these new WH-1000XM6 will be available before the end of the week too. Shared across its social media channels, the official teaser does not directly address rumours. Instead, it shows what looks like a pair of over-ear headphones hidden by a pink sheet of some kind. While full details and pricing remain unknown for now, Sony’s Smoky Pink refreshes of older generations point to this Sandpink release being a visual refresh rather than a hardware one.
