Surprising Google Pixel 10 price leak suggests some handsets devices could be cheaper

    Android Headlines

This week has seen a flurry of info about the upcoming Pixel 10 devices from Google, including information on their (possibly disappointing) cameras. That’s in addition to information on the size of the Pixel 10 Fold, and an earlier leak showing a render of the base device. Now, a new report has information about the pricing of the devices as well — though take the numbers with a grain of salt, as they may or may not be accurate.

According to a report from Android Headlines, the pricing for the Pixel 10 series will see some increases, some decreases, and some staying the same compared to the previous Pixel 9 models. The report claims to have data from a Google insider source, saying that the upcoming lineup will include a Pixel base model, two Pro models, a budget A model, and a foldable.

Here’s how the reported pricing breaks down. The current Pixel Fold will decrease in price over the years to $1,500 in 2028, with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold model going for $1,600. The Pixel 10 Pro XL will see an increase to $1,200, while the Pixel 10 Pro will stay at $1,000. The Pixel 10 base model will stay at $800, and the budget A model will stay at $500, making it a strong value pick.

That could make sense, as the pricing makes a larger differentiation between the various phones. Previously, there could be as little as $100 difference between models in the Pixel lineups, giving consumers more pause over whether to splurge for an upgrade.

However, these numbers are far from certain, so don’t start budgeting just yet. As Android Police points out, now is a particularly bad time to make pricing predictions as the current tariff situation in the US is still up in the air, and it’s generally difficult to predict what costs will go into a smartphone years in advance of its launch.

The Pixel 10 will launch with Google’s smartest assistant yet

In 2023, rumors of a new Google AI assistant (nicknamed “Pixie”) began to emerge. The idea of an on-device smart assistant appealed for a number of reasons, privacy and performance among them, but it missed its planned launch date. Google hasn’t said anything else about it, until now — Pixie is back as Pixel Sense, and is slated to release with the Google Pixel 10.

Google describes the new app with one line: “Get the most personalized experienced based on the things you do on your Pixel,” according to Android Authority. In other words, Pixel Sense will pull and collate data from your other apps, as well as from texts, images, and media files. It can also use screenshots in a similar way as the Pixel Screenshot function.

Google Pixel 9a price leak is a welcome surprise after the iPhone 16e

We’re less than a month away from the launch of Google’s next smartphone, the budget-friendly Pixel 9a. But what will this phone cost? We now have the answer, and it’s excellent news for anyone deciding between it and the recently announced Apple iPhone 16e.

According to Android Headlines, the new Google phone costs $499 for the 128GB version and $599 for the 256GB version. This is the same price the company is charging for the Pixel 8a, which the Pixel 9a will soon replace.

The Pixel 10’s model number might have just leaked

The headlines today might be dominated by the not-so-surprise launch of the iPhone 16e, but it’s not all that’s happening. A GSMA (Global System for Mobile Communications Association) entry might have just revealed the official model numbers for the Pixel 10 lineup, and that means the device is nearing approval — and could be roughly six months away.

Initial reports point at least four distinct models: the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, according to SmartPrix.com. The only missing entry would be the Pixel 10A, but it’s expected to make an appearance later in the year.
