TCL unveils competitively priced mini LED gaming monitor with 2,304 dimming zones and 2,000-nit peak brightness – NotebookCheck.net News

    ⓘ TCL via ITHome

The 27-inch TCL 27C2A Pro mini LED gaming monitor sports a whopping 2,304 dimming zones.

TCL has launched a new mini LED gaming monitor with an extremely attractive price-to-performance ratio. With 2,304 dimming zones, the 27-inch 4K 160 Hz monitor sports impressive contrast ratios and a peak brightness of a whopping 2,000 nits.

TCL has launched a brand-new gaming monitor, dubbed the 27C2A Pro. As the name suggests, the monitor sports a 27-inch mini LED display with high-end features at a relatively affordable price.

With a total of 2,304 independent dimming zones, the TCL 27C2A Pro should be able to achieve excellent contrast ratios, as well as minimal blooming around bright objects. Gamers will appreciate the gaming monitor’s dual-mode functionality, which can switch between 4K at 160 Hz for maximum visual fidelity, and FHD at a whopping 320 Hz for competitive gaming. A GtG time of 1 ms has been claimed.

TCL states that the 27C2A Pro gaming monitor should be able to hit a peak brightness of 2,000 nits in HDR mode, although full-screen sustained brightness details were not shared. Considering that the monitor sports HDR1400 certification, a peak full-screen sustained brightness of at least 900 nits can be safely expected.

RGB lighting is also on offer.
A relatively minimal design language has been followed.

The company also claims 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut as well as ΔE of less than 2, which should make the monitor well-suited for content creation as well. Plenty of ports are on offer as well, including the following:

    • Dual HDMI 2.1
    • DisplayPort 1.4
    • Dual USB-A, USB-C with 90-watt power delivery
    • 3.5 mm audio

Ergonomic adjustments include height, tilt, and swivel. A 90° pivot mechanism is also present, which is always a nice option to have for folks with multi-monitor setups. A few gamer-oriented AI features are also present, such as crosshair color inversion and automatic brightness enhancement in dark environments.

Priced at 3,367 Yuan, or roughly $488, the TCL 27C2A Pro mini LED gaming monitor clearly packs a lot of bang for the buck. The product is already available for purchase in China, and a global launch down the road is far from unlikely considering that TCL does like to bring its products outside its home country. For now, gamers can check out the similarly sized Asus ROG Strix 240 Hz OLED monitor, available for $588 on Amazon.
