Tesla unveils interior of new 6-seat Model Y L in teaser video ahead of China launch – NotebookCheck.net News
Tesla continues to tease the Model Y L on Chinese social media. A new video confirms the 6-seat configuration and other cabin improvements to the extended electric SUV.
Photos of the Tesla Model Y L in China have been widely shared on the internet. However, the interior of the updated SUV has been revealed in a teaser video shared by the automaker on the Chinese social media site Weibo.
The 18-second clip confirms that the Model Y L will have seating for six. It also shows the second row will be occupied by captain’s chairs, allowing easy passage between them to the last row. The extra space in the extended cabin makes the car more convenient to use as a family hauler.
Other seat improvements include powered armrests for the second row, new vents on the C-pillar for better airflow to third-row riders, and cupholders. Tesla also updated the front seats with adjustable headrests, lumbar support, and leg-rest extensions.
The last two rows can power-fold flat at the press of a button to expand the cargo space, a feature that campers or road trippers will appreciate. The cabin has received other little refreshes, including new door panels, aluminium accents, and a black headliner.
Tesla is expected to start delivering the Model Y L in China in September. Reports claim that the enlarged SUV has already entered production, as could be evidenced by the spotting of a car carrier loaded with at least three units, which were not covered or camouflaged.
Sighting in Germany suggests Tesla has plans beyond China for the Model Y L. The Chinese version will feature an 82 kWh NMC battery, yielding a driving range of 751 km according to CLTC standards.
