Top Laptop Deal: Chuwi CoreBook X with AMD Ryzen 5 and 14-inch 2K Display for Under $400 – NotebookCheck.net Reviews

The Chuwi CoreBook X with a 14-inch 2K display offers a slim design, the powerful AMD Ryzen 5 7430U processor, and solid performance for work, study, and multimedia. Thanks to its compact design, the notebook is versatile, easy to transport, and currently available at a particularly affordable price – ideal for the home office.

Our recent review shows that with the CoreBook X, Chuwi delivers a 14-inch notebook primarily designed for price-conscious users. Equipped with the AMD Ryzen 5 7430U (6 cores, 12 threads), the device delivers sufficient performance for everyday tasks such as word processing, surfing the internet, or playing media. However, the integrated graphics unit is only suitable for computing-intensive software or current games to a limited extent.

The display is one of the strengths: the built-in IPS panel offers a 2K resolution, good sRGB coverage, and stable viewing angles. Around 360 cd/m² ensures sufficient display brightness. However, there are limitations due to the glossy surface, which favors reflections in bright environments. The casing combines metal and plastic elements and therefore gives a more valuable impression than pure plastic models, but without achieving the stability and feel of expensive premium notebooks. The CoreBook X is predominantly quiet in everyday use, with the fans only becoming noticeable under load. In terms of efficiency, minor compromises are necessary, which are justifiable considering the overall excellent price-performance ratio.

The integrated 46 Wh battery enables a runtime of around 6.5 hours in the WLAN test. This means that one battery charge is enough for around half a working day. The RAM can be upgraded, and a second module can be added. This improves the system performance, which particularly benefits the integrated graphics unit.

Overall, the Chuwi CoreBook X impresses with an attractive price-performance ratio. For less than $400, pupils, students, and office users get a compact notebook with a high-resolution display, solid features, and sufficient performance for everyday use. The Chuwi CoreBook X with Intel CPU can be ordered directly from the manufacturer’s store. The version with an AMD processor is currently not available in the manufacturer’s US store.

Subsequently, I started 12 years of military service, during which I learned a lot about technology and constantly kept my knowledge up to date with the latest developments. As I like to share my knowledge, I found Notebookcheck was a very good opportunity for this. In addition, I also work a lot with water cooling and network security.
