After unveiling its new ULTRA5G network for in-building coverage, U Mobile has headed to Kota Kinabalu to activate its ULTRA5G network at two sites just in time for the Merdeka celebration, and if you are located there, you can head over to Padang Bandaran and Karamunsing Shopping Complex.

The telco’s new ULTRA5G network is build on 5G SA, which offers speeds of up to 1.6Gbps and supports network slicing for various applications. The implementation of ULTRA5G on these two sites will offer fast and reliable connectivity, as Kota Kinabalu is expected to attract a crowd of 50,000 during National Day celebrations.

ULTRA5G is available to all U Mobile Postpaid and Prepaid customers, though to enjoy the service you will need to have a 5G SA capable smartphone which you can find out the list here, the telco is awarded as the nation’s second 5G network operator a few months back, breaking that SWN model that Digital Nasional Berhad intiated.
