Voya Games raised $5 million in funding to support the growth of Craft World, a casual Web3 game.

The investment will be used to support the growth of Craft World, Voya Games’ debut game with over 240,000 registered players during its testnet phase, and a network of games and experiences connected through player ownership.

1kx and Makers Fund led the round, with participation from RockawayX; and angels Jeff ‘Jihoz’ Zirlin, cofounder of Sky Mavis; and Sébastien Borget, COO of The Sandbox.

Founded in 2023, VOYA Games is led by CEO and founder Oliver Löffler, the creator of Kolibri Games and the hit title Idle Miner Tycoon, which surpassed 100 million downloads and led to a nine-figure acquisition by Ubisoft in under four years. He is joined by co-founders Florian Dreschner and Dino Erdmann, who bring a powerful blend of technical expertise and creative leadership to the company.

“Our goal is to build a token ecosystem where games are connected through a shared player economy and culture,” Löffler, CEO of Voya Games, in a statement. “Craft World is our first step in that vision, already attracting over 50,000 monthly active users in its test phase. With this funding, we’ll scale our experiences, expand our user base, and grow our ecosystem, laying the groundwork for a network of interconnected games built on participation and long-term trust. We’re excited to advance this mission with the launch of Craft World later this year.”

Craft World is a casual resource management game where players work with friendly dinosaurs to rebuild civilization after a meteor wipes out humanity. Currently in testnet, the game is free-to-play on iOS, Android, and web. As players progress, they learn about asset ownership and trading in a fun-first and safe environment.

Over 240,000 players registered during the testnet phase, with 50,000 monthly active users and 1.1 million total lifetime on-chain trades. VOYA Games’ two NFT collections are seamlessly integrated into the game experiences and economy. Craft World will launch out of testing this summer and serve as the foundational component of VOYA Games’ broader ecosystem, a network of interconnected games and experiences unified by the Dyno Coin utility token.

“VOYA Games not only understands the true potential of crypto but is fully committed to realizing it in a way that aligns perfectly with our thesis at 1kx,” said Peter Pan of 1kx, in a statement. “They’re building a Web3 gaming ecosystem that prioritizes openness and ownership, treating the game world more like a public good than a closed economy. Under Oliver Löffler’s leadership, the team brings a rare combination of technical know-how and mass-market experience, and we’re proud to support their mission to create interconnected games and experiences unified by player ownership.”
