We Are Rewind is reissuing one of the most popular cassette players currently on the market as an Elvis Limited Edition. The limited edition comes in black with subtle red accents and a less subtle Elvis logo on the back.

The We Are Rewind WE-001 cassette player has always been available in a range of bright colors, but the new Elvis Limited Edition is arguably the most striking design variant yet. The casing is matte black, with a button and the Rewind logo in a red accent color. The back panel features a giant “Elvis” logo.
The Limited Edition comes in a collector’s box that also includes a specially reissued version of Elvis’ Christmas Album. Technically, the Limited Edition is identical to the regular We Are Rewind WE-001, ranging from the relatively compact aluminum case (measuring 14 x 8.9 x 3.4 centimeters) to the integrated 2,000 mAh battery, which is said to provide ten to twelve hours of runtime and can be conveniently charged via USB-C.
Headphones can be connected either via a 3.5 mm jack or via Bluetooth 5.1. It’s also possible to connect a microphone or an external player and record on blank cassettes. At an output power of 2 mW, the integrated headphone amplifier isn’t particularly powerful, and the WE-001 lacks features like Dolby Noise Reduction, so the cassette player is primarily aimed at casual users rather than hi-fi enthusiasts.
Price and availability
The We Are Rewind x Elvis Limited Edition is available now for $199 via the manufacturer’s online shop. This makes the Elvis version, limited to 1,957 units, $40 more expensive than the technically identical We Are Rewind WE-001. However, the manufacturer also includes a cassette of Elvis’ Christmas Album with the Limited Edition.
