With RGB laser and 3,300 ISO lumens: New 4K projector to launch with huge discounts – NotebookCheck.net News

The manufacturer AWOL is launching a new projector, which will debut with significant discounts on Kickstarter. It’s supposed to sport a high contrast ratio and particularly low latency.
We have already reported on the manufacturer AWOL several times, and not always positively. At CES, the company introduced new projectors that will be crowdfunded starting on February 10 on Kickstarter. AWOL is advertising particularly steep discounts during the first 24 hours, but exact pricing has not yet been announced. However, prospective backers can get a discount of up to $2,500 by contributing $50, which supposedly lowers the price of the 4K projector to $1,999. In any case, backers should pay close attention to the shipping terms and consider the financial risks of crowdfunding campaigns in general.
With that out of the way, the Kickstarter page already lists some of the most important technical specifications. The 4K laser projector is advertised to offer 3,300 ISO lumens. Furthermore, the product pictures show that this is a UST projector that can be placed very close to the projection surface. From a distance of about 19 inches, it can already produce a 100-inch picture. According to AWOL, the input lag is very low at just 1ms and VRR as well as ALLM are supported, all of which are important features for gamers. Additionally, the projector is equipped with an RGB laser setup and should produce vibrant colors. 3D playback is also in the works, but that will require 3D glasses.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
