Xiaomi Expands Tablet Lineup in Malaysia with Xiaomi Pad Mini and Redmi Pad 2 Pro Series

Xiaomi has officially expanded its tablet portfolio in Malaysia with the launch of two distinct offerings: the Xiaomi Pad Mini, the brand’s first compact tablet designed for portability and light productivity, and the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Series, built for immersive large-screen entertainment and everyday versatility.

Xiaomi Pad Mini: Compact Power for Creatives on the Go

The Xiaomi Pad Mini introduces a new benchmark for mini tablets in Malaysia, combining lightweight portability with high-end features aimed at professionals and creatives who need efficiency on the go. Its 8.8-inch 3K display delivers razor-sharp visuals at 3008 × 1880 resolution with 403 PPI, supported by an adaptive refresh rate of up to 165Hz. Dolby Vision enhances contrast and color depth, while 700 nits peak brightness ensures clarity even outdoors. Eye comfort is prioritized with TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light, flicker-free performance, and circadian-friendly viewing.

Engineered for ergonomic single-handed use, the Xiaomi Pad Mini features a slim 132.03mm-wide unibody metal design with a micro-arc frame for balance and grip comfort. Inside, it runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor, paired with a 7500mAh battery that supports 67W HyperCharge and 18W reverse charging. Dual Type-C ports on both short and long sides offer flexible connectivity, while HyperAI tools like AI Writing, AI Interpreter, and AI Art boost productivity.

The Xiaomi Focus Pen, designed for precision writing with millisecond-level low latency, complements the tablet perfectly, alongside the Xiaomi Pad Mini Cover, which comes free (worth RM299). Priced at RM2,299 for the 12GB + 512GB variant, early-bird buyers can grab it at RM1,999 at selected Xiaomi stores, mi.com, Shopee, and Lazada.

Redmi Pad 2 Pro Series: Entertainment on a Bigger Scale

For those who prefer large-screen entertainment, Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Series, featuring the Redmi Pad 2 Pro and the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G. Both models are built around a 12.1-inch 2.5K display with Dolby Vision and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate for smooth streaming and gaming. Triple TÜV Rheinland certifications ensure comfortable viewing, while a quad-speaker system with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio delivers immersive sound.

The series packs a 12000mAh battery, supported by 33W fast charging and 27W reverse charging to double up as a power bank. Powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro balances performance and efficiency for multitasking. HyperOS interconnectivity enhances the experience with cross-device features such as call sync, shared clipboard, and network sync. Google Gemini and Circle to Search with Google are also built in.

The Redmi Pad 2 Pro starts at RM999 (6GB + 128GB) as a Shopee exclusive until October 2, before retailing at RM1,099 across all platforms. The 8GB + 256GB variant is priced at RM1,399 and comes bundled with the Redmi Smart Pen and Keyboard. The Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G (8GB + 256GB) will be available from October 15 at RM1,799, also bundled with the pen and keyboard.

Redmi Pad 2 Play Bundle: Family-Friendly Fun

Xiaomi also introduced the Redmi Pad 2 Play Bundle, a family-focused device with an 11-inch 2.5K matte glass display and a 90Hz refresh rate that reduces glare by up to 97%, making it suitable for both learning and entertainment. It includes TÜV Rheinland certifications for eye safety, a 9000mAh battery with 18W charging, and quad speakers with Dolby Atmos. Powered by the MediaTek Helio G100-Ultra and Xiaomi HyperOS 2, the Play Bundle delivers performance for school, gaming, and creative play. Priced at RM799 (4GB + 128GB), it will be available from October 10.
