JBL unveils next gen Bar Series sound bar in Malaysia

JBL has unveiled its new JBL Bar Series in Malaysia, introducing an upgraded lineup of soundbars designed to bring cinematic, room-filling audio into any home. Featuring a complete redesign, new acoustic technologies and deeper ecosystem integration, the refreshed series aims to give users an immersive and modern home theatre experience that works seamlessly with any TV.

The new range draws inspiration from JBL’s long heritage in professional cinema audio, combining multi-directional sound, smarter processing and expanded connectivity options. Every model in the lineup comes equipped with HARMAN’s latest MultiBeam 3.0 technology, enabling a wide, enveloping surround effect from a single soundbar. When paired with support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, the new systems create an impressive sense of height and spatial dimension. Higher-end models also include detachable rear speakers, letting users place true wireless surround channels anywhere in the room.

JBL is introducing several new sound technologies with this generation. SmartDetails, a HARMAN-engineered solution, enhances subtle audio cues such as ambient footsteps, soft movements or environmental textures, making movies and shows feel more lifelike. AI Sound Boost makes its debut in this range as well, intelligently analysing audio in real time to boost bass and dynamic range without introducing distortion. PureVoice 2.0 improves dialogue clarity even in complex scenes, ensuring speech remains crisp and easy to understand.

At the top of the lineup sits the JBL Bar 1300MK2, the flagship designed for users who want a full cinematic setup. It features a dual 8-inch wireless subwoofer and two detachable wireless surround speakers that can also be used independently as Bluetooth speakers around the home. Six up-firing drivers add height channels for more realistic Dolby Atmos and DTS:X playback. The subwoofer integrates AI Sound Boost to deliver deeper bass with reduced distortion, even at higher volumes.

The JBL One Commander further enhances the 1300MK2 by enabling fully wireless Dolby Atmos connectivity with most ARC/eARC-compatible TVs and projectors. This eliminates the need for HDMI cables running across the room, contributing to a cleaner visual setup while still delivering room-filling audio.

For smaller living rooms, the JBL Bar 1000MK2 offers a compact alternative with two up-firing drivers, a 10-inch subwoofer and detachable surrounds for true 7.1.4-channel playback. The JBL Bar 800MK2 provides a more accessible option with detachable rear speakers and virtual Dolby Atmos, while the JBL Bar 500MK2 and Bar 300MK2 deliver powerful cinematic enhancement for first-time apartment setups or budget-conscious buyers looking to elevate their TV audio experience.

All new models run on the JBL One Platform, an ecosystem designed for high-resolution streaming, multi-service access and deep personalization. Users can stream directly from the JBL One app or from their preferred music apps, while the built-in 7-band EQ allows tuning to match personal taste or room acoustics. The Moment button lets users store a favourite playlist for instant playback with a single press. All models also support major streaming technologies including AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Roon Ready integration.

The JBL Bar 1000MK2, Bar 800MK2, Bar 500MK2 and Bar 300MK2 are now available in Malaysia through authorised dealers and online platforms including JBL’s official website, Lazada and Shopee. The flagship JBL Bar 1300MK2 will arrive in January 2026 at RM8,999, while the rest of the lineup starts from RM2,499 for the Bar 300MK2, RM2,999 for the Bar 500MK2, RM4,499 for the Bar 800MK2 and RM5,999 for the Bar 1000MK2.
