With the announcement of the Alpha Plan at MWC 2025, Honor has also announced that it is extending its software update policy for the Magic series to 7 years of security and OS upgrades, making a significant bump from the initial 4 years.

The software update policy has been applied to the Magic7 series for the European market, it shows the commitment of the company to bring continuous software and AI innovations to its flagship smartphone, the company mentions that it will also be applied to the Magic7 series sold in Malaysia, though it is unclear if older Magic series smartphones will enjoy the same benefit.

In MWC 2025, Honor introduced a series of AI innovations and initiatives known as the Honor Alpha Plan, with support from Qualcomm and Google Cloud, the company unveiled exciting annoucements on stage, such as AI Upscale that transforms old photos into clearer shots, an on-device AI Agent that performs actions on behalf of the user’s prompts such as making a reservation at a restaurant, and an updated Honor Share that allows seamless file transfers with other brand’s Android smartphones and iPhone.
