Battle of the camera giants: Oppo Find X9 Ultra set to compete against Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra in Europe as well – NotebookCheck.net News

With evidence suggesting that Zeiss’s ultimate camera flagship will launch outside of China for the first time in 2026, the news that next year’s ultra-Hasselblad camera also has a chance of a global launch is generating excitement among smartphone camera enthusiasts. The battle of the three biggest camera giants will likely take place outside of China for the first time.

For years, China has been offering the widest selection of high-end camera smartphones. Not only are Apple and Samsung vying for market share there, but also local manufacturers such as Huawei, Xiaomi, Honor, Vivo and Oppo, though in many cases the models of these companies don’t make it across the Great Wall. Xiaomi has been pursuing a slightly different approach for years, foregoing a global launch of its Pro models in Europe, but at least bringing its Ultra models to Europe, such as the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

Those wanting to use the Vivo X200 Ultra or the Oppo Find X8 Ultra in the EU or elsewhere, however, have to resort to importing them from China. While this is relatively inexpensive and straightforward, it can sometimes lead to compatibility issues, such as with Wear OS smartwatches, eSIMs or Google’s Quick Share. On the other hand, the global availability of the two most important competitors to the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected for the first time in 2026. Just a few days ago, a global model number for the Vivo X300 Ultra was discovered in the GSMA database, an early indication of a global launch of the highly anticipated dual-200MP Zeiss camera flagship outside of China.

And now Indian leaker Yogesh Brar is giving Oppo fans hope that they might finally get their first chance to purchase the ultimate Hasselblad camera flagship in the EU next year. While an Indian launch depends on the success of the Oppo Find X9 and Oppo Find X9 Pro, a global launch is planned for the first quarter of 2026, according to the leaker. However, it’s unlikely that either the Vivo X300 Ultra or the Oppo Find X9 Ultra will be cheap when they arrive in Europe. If the two Pro models already have a recommended retail price of between €1,300 and €1,400, it’s safe to assume that the Ultra flagships will cost more than €1,600, especially since smartphone prices are generally on the rise.

Growing up in regional Australia, I first became acquainted with computers in my early teens after a broken leg from a football (soccer) match temporarily condemned me to a predominately indoor lifestyle. Soon afterwards I was building my own systems. Now I live in Germany, having moved here in 2014, where I study philosophy and anthropology. I am particularly fascinated by how computer technology has fundamentally and dramatically reshaped human culture, and how it continues to do so.
