HUAWEI Mate X7 Launches in Malaysia with Ultra-Slim Foldable Design, Flagship Cameras and Premium Ecosystem Experience

HUAWEI has officially launched the HUAWEI Mate X7 in Malaysia, marking the arrival of its most refined and powerful foldable smartphone to date. Designed for users who want the versatility of a foldable device without sacrificing performance, durability or design, the Mate X7 represents Huawei’s latest vision for premium foldable smartphones, combining flagship hardware with an ultra-slim form factor that adapts seamlessly to everyday use.

As foldable devices continue to mature, the HUAWEI Mate X7 stands out as a device built to transition effortlessly between productivity and entertainment. In its folded form, it offers comfortable one-handed usability for messaging, calls and quick tasks, while unfolding reveals a large, immersive display that transforms the phone into a powerful tool for multitasking, content consumption and creative work. The overall experience feels fluid and intuitive, designed to fit naturally into both work and leisure scenarios.

At the heart of the Mate X7 is Huawei’s X-True dual display system, which pairs a 6.49-inch outer display with an expansive 8-inch inner foldable screen. The outer display delivers excellent clarity and visibility even under bright outdoor conditions, while the inner screen opens into a large, vivid canvas ideal for split-screen multitasking, document editing, streaming and gaming. Smooth adaptive refresh rates ensure scrolling, switching between apps and media playback remain responsive and visually pleasing throughout the day.

Despite its large displays, the HUAWEI Mate X7 maintains an impressively slim and comfortable profile. Its quad-curved foldable design allows the device to sit naturally in the hand, reducing bulk while improving ergonomics. The signature Time Space Gate camera module and Light Woven Brocade craftsmanship further elevate the device’s premium aesthetic, giving it a distinctive yet elegant identity. The Mate X7 is available in Nebula Red, Classic Black and Brocade White, offering colour options that balance modern sophistication with timeless appeal.

Photography is a major focus of the Mate X7, with Huawei continuing to push imaging standards in the foldable segment. The device is equipped with Huawei’s True-to-Colour Camera system, which enhances colour accuracy and improves light intake for consistently vibrant and natural-looking photos across different lighting conditions. From bright daytime shots to challenging low-light scenes, the camera system delivers images with impressive clarity, depth and balance.

The Ultra Lighting HDR Camera further enhances image quality by preserving highlights and shadow details, while the 50-megapixel telephoto macro camera with 3.5x optical zoom allows users to seamlessly shift between wide landscapes, detailed portraits and close-up macro photography. Video capabilities are equally capable, with Ultra HDR video recording supporting cinematic 4K footage with rich colours and a wide dynamic range, making the Mate X7 suitable for both casual users and content creators.

Durability has also been significantly improved, addressing one of the biggest concerns surrounding foldable devices. The HUAWEI Mate X7 is built using Huawei’s Ultra-Reliable Foldable Architecture, featuring Ultra-Durable Crystal Armour Kunlun Glass on the outer display and an Advanced Precision Hinge reinforced by a three-layer composite ultra-tough structure for the inner screen. With IP58 and IP59 dust and water resistance ratings, the Mate X7 offers greater peace of mind for daily use, even in more demanding environments.

Powering the device is a 5,600mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 66W wired and 50W wireless HUAWEI SuperCharge, ensuring reliable all-day performance and fast recharging when time is limited. Intelligent AI features further enhance daily usability, including AI Remove and AI Best Expression for effortless photo editing, Face-to-Face Translation for travel and meetings, and two-way AI noise cancellation for clearer calls and video conferences in noisy environments.

In Malaysia, the HUAWEI Mate X7 is priced at RM8,688 and is available for pre-order starting 20 January through HUAWEI Experience Stores, the HUAWEI Official Website, and official HUAWEI stores on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop. Pre-order customers will receive exclusive gifts worth up to RM7,597, including a HUAWEI WATCH 5, a HUAWEI MatePad 11.5, HUAWEI Care+ with one-year one-time screen protection and trade-in rebates of up to RM2,000. The Mate X7 is also available via Maxis, with postpaid plans starting from RM170 per month.

Mate X7 owners will enjoy premium after-sales services such as Care+ one-time screen protection, APAC regional warranty coverage, proactive care support and priority service. Additional AppGallery benefits worth up to RM3,069 are also available, offering exclusive partner deals and promotions for Malaysian users.

Alongside the Mate X7, HUAWEI continues to strengthen its ecosystem in Malaysia with the availability of the HUAWEI FreeClip 2, featuring an Airy C-Bridge open-ear design that prioritises comfort, awareness and all-day wearability.

The FreeClip 2 is now available at a promotional price of RM699 after rebate.

HUAWEI has also refreshed its wearable lineup with the HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate Design Royal Gold Edition and the HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 series, including the HONMA collaboration model, further reinforcing its premium lifestyle and fitness ecosystem.
