Leak: Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra to get three camera upgrades, Galaxy S26 Edge just one – NotebookCheck.net News

In the past few hours, two leakers have confirmed certain details regarding the camera upgrades of the Galaxy S26 series. In particular, the quad-camera system of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to benefit from several changes that should make it more light sensitive. The Galaxy S26 Edge, also known as the Galaxy S26 Air, is also said to receive a better camera.

In the past few hours, Winfuture editor Roland Quandt and Ice Universe have provided a lot of detailed information about the camera upgrades for the Galaxy S26 series, particularly for the top-tier Galaxy S26 Ultra and the even sleeker Galaxy S26 Edge, which may launch as the Galaxy S26 Air. The latter was appeared in high-resolution render pictures that revealed a rather controversial design. Moreover, some dummies of the entire Galaxy S26 lineup are already circulating and give us a likely look at the design of all three Galaxy S26 phones.

    Galaxy S26 Ultra

Let’s start with the flagship of the Galaxy S26 series, the successor to the Galaxy S25 Ultra (from $999 on Amazon). As has been emphasized multiple times, this device will keep the 1/1.3-inch ISOCELL HP2 200-megapixel sensor. However, its F/1.4 aperture will make it significantly more light-sensitive. The new lens alone is expected to increase light intake by about 47%. The 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with an F/1.9 aperture, which was replaced last year, remains unchanged. However, there are new specs for the two telephoto lenses.

The old 10-megapixel sensor behind the 3x telephoto lens will finally be replaced, but only with a 12-megapixel equivalent. Specifically, a Samsung sensor with the model number S5K3LD is expected to offer 20% more pixels than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Surprisingly, the 5x telephoto lens, which was updated in the Galaxy S24 Ultra, is also getting an upgrade. While the 50-megapixel sensor will likely remain the same, the aperture will increase from F/3.4 to F/2.9, which is a noticeable 38% improvement in terms of light sensitivity.

In his research, Roland has also uncovered the probable camera specifications of the Galaxy S25 Edge successor, which is set to launch in 2026 as part of the Galaxy S26 trio and is set to replace the Galaxy S26 Plus. The device will retain the 200MP main camera, but the ultrawide camera will apparently be upgraded from 12MP to a 50MP sensor. Details on the aperture are currently missing, so we do not know if the camera’s light sensitivity will also be improved, which is expected to be the case with the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
