Some gamers may even remember Need For Speed: Underground 2, which was a huge hit when it was released in 2004 and is one of the most popular racing games on this console. And if you’re a fan, you’ll be pleased to know that you can play it again thanks to Unreal Engine 5, which makes it look better than ever.
While waiting for a new game in this franchise, one fan decided to embark on a unique project. His name is Apfelbaum, and he wants to give this cult game a second youth, making it more enjoyable to play and bringing it back into the spotlight.
It is through a free demo available on the Discord server of RPGGameplay that you can discover this remake. And while this project is still in development, you can already explore various environments, while carefully observing the changes that have been made, like the graphic rendering, the lights that are more natural, or even the reflections.
The latest version has added weather events, such as thunderstorms, as well as new paint designs for cars, allowing you to decorate them according to your tastes.
If it is difficult to know when the full version of this remake of Need For Speed: Underground 2 under Unreal Engine 5 will be released, you should know that it will contain the entire career mode as well as the open world game mode named Bayview. But beware, because AI opponents and traffic are not yet available, although they should be added in future updates.
