Xiaomi hits 300,000-car milestone in first 15 months of vehicle-making – NotebookCheck.net News
Xiaomi has yet to mark its second year in the automotive industry, yet reports that it has delivered over 300,000 cars already. The SU7 sedan is is credited with the majority of the company’s orders thus far, although the YU7 SUV is backed to catch up soon. Xiaomi is also thought to break into the international car market soon.
Xiaomi has only had an active Automotive Division since April 2024, yet now claims to have delivered over 300,000 cars in the ~15 months since the SU7’s launch.
Interestingly, the company estimates that the time taken to ship its last ~200,000 vehicles is about the same as the time needed to amass its first 100,000 (232 days for the former, compared to 230 for the latter).
Xiaomi attributes this success to the ability to ramp the rest of its car business’ infrastructure to match its production capacity, which has reportedly “exploded” to address demand for its cars.
Furthermore, the company only has 2 models at present: the SU7 sedan and the YU7 SUV.
Both cars have numerous variants, the most notorious of which is probably the SU7 Ultra, a ‘performance’ vehicle so competitive that it is now selectable in Gran Turismo 7.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi now claims to have taken at least 240,000 pre-orders for the YU7.
The firm is also linked to an Ultra version of the YU7, not to mention a new and larger version of the SUV.
The company’s cars have all been EVs to date, although it reportedly plans to branch out into EREVs soon.
Finally, all of Xiaomi’s automotive success is concentrated in China to date, although it apparently plans to take the European market in the near future.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
